7 Tips on how to make cheap nail polish last longer

I am really not into splurging a lot on nailpolish. Don’t get me wrong – I would buy pricey nail polish if I really wanted it (like I REALLY want to try the Essie brand) but I like getting a lot for my buck so I usually always spend between R5 – R20 on a bottle of nail varnish. I think many ladies will agree that splurging on really expensive nail polish all the time isn’t always necessary when that money can go to better use! So here are my tips for making your cheap nail varnish last longer:

Tip 1 : Clean your nails with nail polish remover and remove any residual polish or oils.

Tip 2: Apply a clear base coat.

Tip 3: Apply your cheap nail polish and wait for it to dry. Wait for it to dry thoroughly (Be patient!).

Tip 4: Apply a second coat of nail polish and wait for it to dry. Lastly apply a clear coat.

Tip 5: Moisturise your hands with some hand cream.

Tip 6: Apply thin coats as this will take quicker to dry.

Tip 7: Do your nails after you shower or bath as cheap nail polish tends to chip easily in warm water.

These polishes I got from China Town. It comes in a pack of 5 for R25. Usually there are only 2 or 3 good colours out of the 5 but it is still worth while. The above nail polishes were accumulated over time in various packs.
