I’ve recently been introduced to this brand of juices called Skinny Juice. These aren’t just ordinary juices you get at the supermarket. These are raw, fresh, cold pressed juices.
The company was founded in 2013 by a couple who loved juicing (basically going on a juice fast for 1 to 7 days or however many days you choose) who then decided to make a living out of producing their own fresh, raw, delicious juices. All the produce is sourced in and around Cape Town so not only are the juices healthy but also local.
According to their site, “juicing is said to be one of the most effective ways of getting all the vitamins and mineral your body needs to kick your immune system into gear.” They claim that juice fast are perfect for a deep cleanse, to rid your body of built up toxins, and for purification. This is on the first time I’ve heard about juicing. For more detailed information about juicing, check our their page on Juicing 101.

Skinny Juice Varieties
They have 6 different kinds of skinny juice available. They are all 500ml each. They all look interesting and tasty and they are all different colours. For example the Skinny D-Tox contains kale, spinach, cucumber, celery, green apples, lemon, and mint. The Skinny Booster contains blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, green apple, lemon, and celery. Check out one of the cleanses here .
The Skinny Juice’s can be purchased on the website, The Skinny Juice Co. You can buy them in packs (either juice boxes or juice cleanses). They work out to R45 per bottle which isn’t bad considering how much fresh produce is would take to fill a 500ml bottle.
I will be trying out Skinny Juice soon, hopefully! I would love to try a cleanse (no more than 3 days!) and to even have one of these juices first thing in the morning would be wonderful. Keep your eyes peeled!
