Hey Gorgeous Skincare Haul

This was my first time ordering from Hey Gorgeous and I was very excited to receive my products and to use them. Here is a run down of Hey Gorgeous and the products I purchased.

Things I love about Hey Gorgeous:

1. Their products don’t contain chemicals, parabens, sulfates, or synthetics.
2. The products are fresh! When you order the products, they make it for you and then ship it off. Think of all the products you buy that sit on the shelves for ages. You just know they’re full of chemicals and preservatives!
3. They are proudly South African.
4. They use ingredients that I can pronounce. I like seeing familiar names on the ingredients list.
5. Their products are organic and vegetarian. They are also cruelty free!

Aloe & Chamomile Soothing Cleanser

This is a beautiful and gentle cleanser. For my sensitive eczema and acne prone skin, it is perfect. If it natural, soap and chemical free, and it doesn’t foam up or dry out my skin. It smells light and fresh. I use this in the mornings to gently clean and calm my skin. There is so much product in this bottle. It was literally filled to the brim. I only need to use a small amount; less than a cap full is enough.

Ingredients: Buchu Water, Rose Hydrasol, Jojoba, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Vegetable based Emulsifier, Chamomile and Lavender Essential Oils.

Honey, Papaya & Pomegranate Facial Scrub

This smells like something you can spread on your bread and eat at a picnic! I’m usually wary of facial scrubs because they can sometimes be harsh. This one has amazing natural ingredients so I wasn’t worried at all. I use it just once a week. The brown sugar does a good job of removing dry skin. You only have to rub it gently over your skin as the sugar is rough enough. Don’t press it on your skin and don’t apply a lot of pressure.

I love how smooth my skin felt after using this. The oils are also quite moistursing. You also only need to use one scoop. Warning: This WILL attract ants so keep it in the fridge.

Ingredients: Brown Sugar, Kaolin Powder, Grapeseed Oil, Apricot Kernel, Macadamia and Olive Oils, Papaya Extract, Wild Flower Honey, Pomegranate seeds, Calendula, Lavender Chamomile.

Banish & Repair Cleanser For Blemish Free Skin

I have tried the oil cleansing method before as I’ve heard a lot about the benefits of it. It unclog pores and doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight.

“Why use oil to wash your face? The answer is simple: oil dissolves oil. Dirt is broken down, pores are cleared, and skin is left glowing and feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! This way of cleansing the face has become extremely popular, and for good reason.” – Washing your face with oil, Hey Gorgeous.

I use this one in the evenings while in the shower. Give your face and neck a gentle massage and then wipe off the oil with a warm cloth. My skin feels mosturised and calm after using this. It doesn’t cause any irritation whatsoever.

Ingredients: Grapeseed, Apricot Kernel, Olive, Macadamia and Rice Bran Oils, Glycerin & Essential Oils

Banish & Repair Serum for Blemish Free Skin

Another product in the Banish and Repair range is this serum. I use it in the evenings after cleansing. I think it will take a few weeks to see noticeable results but right now it does a good job of keeping my skin hydrated. It has lovely nourishing ingredients that I hope can minimise the blemishes on my face caused by eczema and acne. Only time will tell.

Ingredients: Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Carrot Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Baobob Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil,Calendula Oil, Frankincense, Neroli, Neem, Hemp seed oil, Lavender and Chamomile Essential Oils.

Banish & Repair Zap Stick For Sneaky Pimples

This is a cute little product. It comes in a roller ball tube. I am currently using it on the pimples on my forehead and cheeks. They definitely did not go away over night as some reviews claim. It made them slightly less red. I’m hoping that once they are gone that there will be no blemishes left over. It contains great ingredients as usual but the mixture is a bit thick and the roller doesn’t always dispense the product well. So I have to shake the tube a bit before using. I don’t mind this but I do forget sometimes.

Ingredients: Witch Hazel, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Essential oils of: Lavender, Tea Tree, Lemon, Patchouli and Geranium.
