Disney’s Frozen starring Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad.

Synopsis

It’s been so long since I last saw a great Disney animated movie. Frozen is a lovely movie about two princesses, Esla and Anna, who live in a place called Arendelle. Elsa was born with magic powers that give her the ability to create ice and snow. One night while playing together, Elsa accidentally hits Anna with some of her powers which damages her head. Their parents get help from trolls to heal her but from then on Elsa has to hide her powers from Anna and the rest of the kingdom. She ends up locking herself away in her room and hides from her sister and everyone else.

On Elsa’s coronation day, she becomes angry with her sister and once again accidentally hits her sister with her powers. Only this time she hits her heart which is more difficult to heal. She can’t control her powers and ends up putting Arendelle into a never-ending winter. With Arendelle frozen, she decides that it would be better off without her. Elsa runs away to live on her own. The story then follows princess Anna, mountaineer Kristoff, and Olaf the snowman and their adventures as they try to bring Elsa back to unfreeze Arendelle.

My thoughts

This is a Disney animation movie so of course there are going to be lots of songs. My favourites are Let it Go and In Summer. Let it Go is hugely popular with over 112 million views on YouTube as well as numerous award nominations. It’s a beautiful song which is performed when Elsa decides to “let it go” and leave Arendelle for good.

In Summer is a cute and funny song sung by Olaf the Snowman. He longs to know what summer is like but he doesn’t seem to understand what happens to ice in the heat. He wants to lay on the beach and swim and skip around in meadows. It’s so sweet and the humour in the lyrics is great.

  • I enjoyed this movie a lot too! I wonder if “Let it Go” will win best original song tonight at the Oscars.

    • Yes, Frozen won Best Song for Let It Go 🙂
I also heard Idina Menzel performed the song at the ceremony. I haven’t seen this video yet.

  • Frozen may very well be my favorite Disney movie. I love, love, love it!

    • I love it too. Great ending as well. An act of true love can mean anything.
