Ping: Ting and I were lucky to get tickets to the première of The Bling Ring at the V&A Waterfront last week Thursday (14th of November) so we were quite excited as this was our very first event we have attended together as bloggers. This première coincided with the launch of Grazia’s beauty products line at Clicks (need to get my hands on their black vanity case!).The invite said 7Pm and we got there quite early after 6PM.
On arrival we were greeted by Kerri from Grazia who gave us a lovely welcome and who I got chatting to about working for Grazia (which sounded quite interesting). There was a bar with drinks, four stations with ladies who could do your make-up or nails for you ( I had a lovely smokey eye done) and display stations of the Grazia beauty products line available exclusively at Clicks. After all the mingling we went upstairs to the cinema where someone was actually lucky to win a ring and then the Grazia girls thanked us for attending.
The movie – I absolutely loved the movie! I think I loved it as I am a reality show junkie so this was definitely up my stream as it is based on a true story. For those wondering without giving too much away – it is about a group of teenagers who break into celebrities homes and rob them of their jewels, clothes and other valuable items.
Thank you to the Grazia team for having us and we hope to attend many more events like these in the future!
Ting: It was so nice to be at the Waterfront again. I haven’t been there in a while and it was good being there with Ping! We arrived quite early, not wanting to miss anything. We found that we were actually the first people there! When we walked into the lounge area we got a free copy of the latest issue of Grazia and we were invited to drinks at the Martini bar. They were yummy and I had 3! There were Coca-cola drinks on display in limited edition Marc Jacobs bottles which we could bring with us into the cinema with our free popcorn of course.
Like Ping said, there were stations where you could do your makeup and nails. I got the Grazia Peacock eyes and I got a bright pink nail polish which you can see in the photos above.
I loved the movie. It was directed by Sofia Coppola who also directed Marie Antoinette (2006) and Lost in Translation (2003). I loved the way it was filmed and how they captured the lifestyles of these teenagers who, despite being well off, robbed celebrity homes of about 3 million dollars worth of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and other items. It was so cool to see Emma Watson (Harry Potter) and Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story) in the same movie together playing two girls who are not blood related but who grew up as sisters.
Thank you Grazia! I hope we can attend more of their events.
