I have become obsessed with eyeshadow palettes! I used to think I have enough but now I don’t there is such a thing as having too many eyeshadow palettes. There are so many looks you can create with just one palette and you can even mix and match shades from different palettes. This review focuses on the Yardley Stayfast Quad Eyeshadow in Copper Gleam which I picked up at Edgars a few weeks ago.

The quad comes in a little rectangular case which snaps closed quite securely so you won’t have to worry about it staining your bags or making a mess. The shadows are clearly visible from the front of the case.

A small mirror with a foam applicator and a plastic overlay with an illustration of where to apply the different shades.

The eyeshadows are packed so that when you are using it you won’t get one shade overlapping with another one. It comes with 2 foam applicators and a small mirror. I hardly use foam applicators and as you can see one of mine ran away already. I prefer using eyeshadow brushes because I feel like I can better control the amount of product. Foam applicators seem to “soak” up the product. I have used the mirror a few times so that is a nice addition. The plastic overlay sort of annoys me and I doubt I’ll keep it for long. There is a small guide on where to apply the shadows printed on it.

The back of the case gives you the name of the product as well as the shade. I found the instructions to be really helpful as I am not really an expert. I wouldn’t call myself a beginner though. This look is so pretty and really brings out my medium brown eyes. I especially love the 3rd shade which has a lot of shimmer. I like to use it as an eyeliner too. Sometimes I just use the 1st, 2nd, and 4th shade to create a brown smokey eye. Another look you can get from those shades is to put the 1st shade on the inner corner of your eyelid, 2nd shade in the centre, and then 4th on the outer corner and then just blend up and out.

These swatches were taken under natural light coming from my room window but it is not direct sunlight. As you can see, the eyeshadows are quite pigmented. You can give a more subtle look or a bolder look depending how much product you use. I found the product to be very buildable and easy to blend.

The Yardley Stayfast Quad Eyeshadow retails between R82.95 and R89.99. You can find them  in a range of different shades at selected stores such as Edgars, Red Square, Foschini, Clicks, Pick n Pay and Dis-Chem.
